Wilno Heritage Park celebrates Polish Day and Kashub Day with music, food, dancing

The sun was shining in Wilno as crowds gathered to celebrate the 23rd annual Polish Day / Kashub Day Heritage Festival on Saturday, May 10th. As promised on the event poster, attendees enjoyed the heritage displays both indoors in the Museum and outdoors in Heritage Park. A memorial stone for the Rozek family was dedicated in the garden that morning. Our contributor estimated the crowd at about 300 – many of them dancing energetically to great live music, followed by a performance by the Fiddleaires. Throughout the site wafted the tantalizing and delicious aroma of traditional foods such as pączki and sausage with grilled onion and sauerkraut. A 50/50 draw and beer tent added to the atmosphere.

To sum up: Sun, fun, and sausage in a bun. Who could ask for anything more?
