This weekend promises a host of exciting events for Valley residents.

Halloween Hunt

Reminder for all monsters, ghouls and treasure hunters – annual Halloween Hunt takes place in downtown Barry’s Bay tomorrow between 10am and 3pm. Scavenger sheets are available at the Madawaska Valley Public Library OR at Northern Credit Union. Completed sheets can be exchanged for goodie bags at either location. During the Hunt, remember to stop by the Train Station for some Hocus Pocus, not to mention a free hotdog lunch between 11am and 1n (while supplies last).

Born and Raised 2

A fun evening of music and comedy returns to the Royal Canadian Legion Barry’s Bay Branch 406 on Saturday, Oct.26 from 7pm. Performers include The Salt Cellars, Tim Baklinski, Brendan Cybulski, Lisa Hildebrandt, Andrea Murray, Two for the Road, and Geoff Webber. Raffle, door prizes, Andrea’s famous donuts, appetizers, cash bar. All proceeds to St.Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation. Tickets $60 (email transfer to bornandraisedinthevalley@gmail.com )

Broom Dance

A shadow puppet show by Birdbone Theatre will be performed on Saturday, Oct.25th at 427 Tramore Road, Deacon starting at 6:30pm. For ages 6 to 96, accompanied by an adult. Tickets are on Eventbrite $15 to $35 or buy in advance at nathalie@orphanwisdom.com

CHCR’s Annual General Meeting takes place on Sunday, Oct.26th between 2pm and 4pm at the Killaloe Lions Hall, 18 Lake Street, Killaloe. This is your opportunity to help plan and ensure the future of this important community voice.
