Plenty of new names and younger names and very few old names! Hopefully we will see a little more interest in economic progress and resiliency with the new Council. The young folks need new economic opportunities and MVT needs to find better ways to make a living than endlessly subdividing lakefront-lots which is actually not a sustainable economic activity and ditto for selling old cabooses. Tourism and cottaging is also a dead-end with a very short summer-season and with cool rainy weather often putting a damper on tourism. We need to rejuvenate forestry and revive farming and perhaps get some more light industry into the Township. Looking forward to all the all-candidates meetings and newspaper coverage so we can learn what each candidate proposes to do better!
