Madawaska Valley Hospice Palliative Care offers two grief retreats for widowed adults this October, and spaces are filling up says Jenna Stamplicoski, Bereavement Services and Volunteer Coordinator at MVHPC.
The Men’s Day Retreat for Widowed Men will take place on October 15, followed by a Widowed Women Grief Retreat from October 16 to 18, both at Stevenson’s Lodge in Combermere, Ontario.
These retreats are open to anyone in Ontario. Participants do not need to live in our service area or have had previous involvement with hospice. Because finding grief support, particularly retreat style and peer based support, can be difficult in many communities, hospice is reaching out for people who may benefit.
Stamplicoski has provided a list of frequently asked questions (FAQ) about what to expect at these grief retreats. Click HERE to download.
Stamplicoski adds that if you are still wondering if the retreat is right for you, just reach out. “You don’t have to figure that out on your own. We are happy to talk with you, answer your questions and help you decide whether the retreat feels like a good fit for you.”
