Options for affordable home ownership supports local families and young professionals staying in the area. It could also attract remote workers and new residents to the community. Importantly, the non-profit model keeps homes affordable in the long term.

King’s Landing

King’s Landing is a collaborative effort led by Anhart, in collaboration with Ottawa Valley Affordable Housing Corporation (OVAHC) and Best4Life. The Barry’s Bay development is comprised of 36 affordable homeownership opportunities and 42 rental homes on an 18-acre waterfront site across from St.Francis Memorial Hospital, with a completion timeline of just two to three years.

There is significant local economic impact from the project. It is expected to create construction jobs and 44 permanent positions, while generating $3.6 million annually in local economic activity. It addresses the critical housing shortage that local businesses say is costing them employees.
