SFMH halfway there on Emergency Redevelopment

St. Francis Memorial Hospital (SFMH) is pleased to share that the Emergency Department (ED) Redevelopment Project has reached its halfway milestone.

SFMH will transition into the new Emergency Department. As part of the next phase, to expand Ambulatory Care, renovations will continue to the vacated space.

As construction progresses, patients and visitors will begin to notice changes to parking areas and entrance points at the hospital. These temporary adjustments are necessary to support the next phase of construction while maintaining safe and accessible care.

A map will be posted at all main entrances to help guide patients and visitors. It clearly identifies parking areas, entrances, and directional routes for all services, ensuring easy navigation throughout the facility.

If you are unsure of where to go, please ask a staff member—they will be happy to assist you.

What patients and visitors need to know

For Emergency Department (ED) patients:

  • Please enter through the main parking lot gates (first entrance).
  • Designated parking spaces will be clearly marked.
  • Follow posted signage directing you to the ED entrance.

For all other services (e.g., Lab, Diagnostic Imaging, MV Family Health Team, clinics):

  • Please use the second parking lot entrance.
  • Park in any yellow-marked parking space, as shown on the map.
  • Directional signage, consistent with the map, will guide you to the appropriate entry point.

SFMH is committed to minimizing disruption and ensuring patients, families, and visitors can easily access services during construction. The hospital encourages everyone to review the posted map in advance and follow on-site signage when arriving.

This project represents a significant investment in the future of local emergency care—enhancing patient experience, improving flow, and supporting high-quality care close to home.
