Annual tree lighting ceremonies throughout the Valley are helping St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation meet its fundraising goals. The Foundation’s Executive Director, Toni Lavigne-Conway, highlighted three ceremonies for The Current.
- In November, the Township of Killaloe Hagarty and Richards hosted their third annual Tree of Peace event. They lit a Tree and gave community members the opportunity to donate to the Foundation’s current Christmas Campaign.
- On Sunday December 2 at 6 p.m. the Palmer Rapids and Area Lions Club will host their annual Tree of Love. This event combines the tree lighting and a celebration with music and refreshments. The Lions donate the proceeds from their event to the Foundation’s target goal for Christmas.
- Friday, December 7 at 6:30 pm is the Foundation’s annual Tree of Lights celebration at the Barry’s Bay Railway Station. Lavigne-Conway says,
This is an opportunity for us to bring attention to our campaign, which is conducted by mail. We like to do it in conjunction with the town’s Moonlight Madness evening as we have a fairly large crowd and they can take advantage of the people we bring in to the celebration.
As usual community members attending the Tree of Lights event in Barry’s Bay can enjoy wagon rides, kids’ balloon artist and music as well as the tree lighting.
