Madawaska Valley monitoring water levels

May 8  Madawaska Valley advises residents that updates from the Ministry and Ontario Power Generation regarding the spring thaw/flood continue to be monitored by the Community Emergency Management Coordinator (CEMC) and CEMC alternate and updates will be relayed as provided.  Continue to monitor your property.  Please secure boats, docks, rafts on your property.

Sand and sandbags for prevention and protection of primary buildings(ie. House & cottages) are available. Please contact the Township office at 613-756-2747 to register for sandbags, or alternatively, the Operations Manager at 613-633-6164 or the Operations Supervisor at 613-639-5313. If required sand can be delivered to additional central locations for sandbagging.

Barry’s Bay- Public Works Garage Yard 1- 49 Arena Road
Combermere-Fire Hall/Combermere Community Centre-1095 Farmer Road
Contact the Operations Manager 613-633-6164 for sand to be delivered at your location if required.

Road closures as of May 7:

  • Finch Road, remains closed
Call the Township office at 613-756-2747 or the Operations Manager at 613-633-6164 to report any flooding on roads not listed above.
