Madawaska Valley Fire Department has imposed a Total Fire Ban as of August 26. This means no open flames of any sort: no fireworks, no outdoor cooking fires (charcoal barbecues), no campfires.
The extremely dry conditions pose a high fire risk. This is the second Total Fire Ban this season. The fire ban will remain in effect until further notice.
