How do you like your coffee? With art, please, is the answer at the Madawaska Coffee café in Barry’s Bay. The latest local artists to be featured at the main street coffee shop are Jody McKone and Amy Doole. Work by both women is displayed until the end of September.
McKone’s pyrography work from her Twigs and Blossoms studio is featured on this year’s Madawaska Valley Studio Tour. She uses reclaimed and salvaged materials as the basis for her art pieces made by wood burning.
Doole’s functional stoneware, intended for everyday use and enjoyment, is whimsical as well as practical. Her work includes texture and image transfers to echo rural life and landscape.
