The annual tournament is open to co-ed teams (two women must be on the ice surface at all times) and each team pays $150 to enter. The winning team gets to take home the coveted Wilno Winter Classic trophy.
Wilno Recreation Committee representative Con Bersan said it was a very successful event. At time of writing, the committee was unsure of the total amount of money raised but said that having a licensed bar helped.
Busy daytime activities plus Moccasin Dance next Saturday
As for what’s next at Wilno Rink, she said it is nearly time for the annual moccasin dance.
There will be a four-on-four ODR hockey tournament next Saturday February 8, starting at 9 a.m. Anyone interested in entering the tournament should contact Jeff Burchat.
For those who prefer to stay indoors, the Wilno Recreation Committee has announced a 4-Handed Euchre tournament. also on Saturday February 8. Registration is at 12:30 p.m., with a 1:00 p.m. start. Because space is limited, it would be appreciated if you pre-register, by messaging or contacting Joanne 613.756.1407.
And everyone is welcome at the Moccasin Dance at 8 p.m. when you can enjoy live music, great food and lots of fun.
