Aidan Henry of Barry’s Bay won the Week #28 prize of $2,394 in last Thursday’s Catch The Ace lottery held by St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation. She bought her lucky ticket at Lorraine’s Pharmasave in Barry’s Bay. The Weekly Prize for Week #29 is about $2,196 and if the Ace of Spades is found, the lucky ticket holder will take home an estimated $76,998! Catch The Ace lottery proceeds support Valley Manor Redevelopment.

Legion pancake breakfast returns next Sunday Aug.16

Barry’s Bay Legion Branch 406 have been authorized by Renfrew County & District Health Unit to recommence their monthly pancake breakfasts, starting Sunday August 16 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A modest fee (adults $10, children 6-12 years $6, children under 6 Free) will get you the works: pancakes, maple syrup, scrambled eggs, home baked beans, sausages, fruit salad, juice, coffee, tea. Social distancing regulations are in place for this event. Masks must be worn entering the Legion, while in the food line and when leaving your table. All food will be served to Legion guests including coffee, tea, and fruit salad. 

 

Outdoor Story Walk in Barry’s Bay Aug.21

Madawaska Valley Public Library will host a drop-in Outdoor Story Walk program, on Friday, August 21. Start times: 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.  This is another family-friendly activity devised by Julia Beggs who developed and produced the popular weekly Craft Kits this summer. Based on “Dapper’s Muddy Dilemma” —  an original story book written by local student/author Tasha Rankin — this fun, interactive program will allow kids (and families) to walk through story stations and complete activities corresponding to the book. Madawaska Valley Fish & Game Club news

The MV Fish & Game Club has also announced a mini Gun and Sportsman Show to be held the same day as their Poker Run at the organization’s Clubhouse, 3380 Quadeville Road, Quadeville, ON.
