Julie Neitzel of Eganville brought a Catch The Ace ticket at Conway’s Pharmacy in Eganville and won the weekly prize of $2,595 – the biggest prize she has ever won. Her chosen number (9) revealed the Four of Hearts, so the Ace of Spades lives on for another week.
Week #30 winnings are estimated at $2,406 for the weekly prize and at $81,415 for the progressive jackpot if the Ace of Spades is found. All proceeds support Valley Manor Redevelopment. Tickets for next Thursday’s draw can be purchased at AJ’s Convenience, Barry’s Bay Esso, Barry’s Bay Shell, Charlie D’s, CO Country Market, Conway’s Pharmacy, Eganville Shell, Killaloe Hardware, Lorraine’s Pharmasave, Round Lake Centre, The Cottage Cup, and Wilno Building Supply.
2020 Taste of the Valley cancelled by County of Renfrew
Since the first one held in Cobden in 2007, the annual Taste of the Valley celebrations of local food and crafts have become key social events for residents and tourists, and important selling and marketing venues for local food producers, farmers, artists and crafters, attracting up to 1,500 visitors. County of Renfrew has reluctantly decided to cancel this summer’s Taste of the Valley celebrations. In a press release from the County’s Economic Development Services, David Wybou, Taste of the Valley Coordinator and Renfrew County Business Development Officer, says they are developing a Virtual Taste of the Valley, featuring local food producers on-line. This will enable customers to shop local throughout the entire year.
Farmers Markets
In the meantime, Wybou encourages residents to continue to support local farmers and food producers to buy local foods by visiting one of the many Summer and Farmers Markets which are operating this year.
