St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation Catch The Ace jackpot edges close to $100,000

Congratulations to Week #32 Catch the Ace Lottery winner Maurleen St. Louis of Eganville, who won the weekly prize of $3,366!  The ticket was purchased at Conway’s Pharmacy in Eganville. Ms. St. Louis chose Number 2 because it is her birth month. Envelope number 2 revealed the Six of Hearts, so the Ace of Spades remains hidden and the lottery continues.

The Weekly Prize for Week #33 is estimated at $3,166 and if the Ace of Spades is found, the Total Winnings will be around $97,564!!  All proceeds support Valley Manor Redevelopment.

Register now at CPAN for Tools for Schools

Registration for Renfrew County’s Child Poverty Action Network (CPAN) back to school program Tools for Schools is now open at     The Tools for School Program (Previously known as Backpack Plus) aims to ensure that all children in Renfrew County can participate fully in school, regardless of their family’s financial status. In that way children have the best chance to succeed and reach their full academic and social potential in life.

The Tools for School program has been around since the year 2000. There are 2,590 children living in poverty throughout Renfrew County. This coming school year we anticipate that there will be between 1,000 and 1,500 children and youth who will need backpacks, supplies, and shoes. Their parents face many challenges, and have high hopes that their children will have a better life than they. Parents tell us that school is often the only place where they feel their children are on an equal footing with other children.  CPAN appeals to individuals and the business community of Renfrew County to help make the Tools for School Program sustainable so that all children can start their school year in dignity with a backpack, school supplies, and shoes regardless of their economic status. Donations can also be made online at the link above.
