Insurer donates to local healthcare partners

Peel Mutual Insurance Company and its local broker, Greg Kelly Insurance Brokerage, visited with the St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation on September 22 to make two generous gifts. The donations were a result of Peel Mutual’s wish to give back to local healthcare providers, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. John Spinelli, AVP of Business Development, noted that in addition to supporting local healthcare, Peel Mutual has given $2 million in premium relief to its customers during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The first cheque was presented to St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation. Executive Director Erin Gienow said the $2,555.54 donation will go to the ongoing healthcare needs at St. Francis Memorial Hospital, the Valley Manor and Madawaska Valley Hospice Palliative Care. On the same day, Barry’s Bay Home Support received a donation of $2,000.00 from Peel Mutual Insurance Company and its local broker, Greg Kelly Insurance Brokerage. John Spinelli said the money is an effort to support local healthcare partners during the pandemic. The donation was accepted by Joanne King who is the Executive Director for the Barry’s Bay Home Support Services, which provides transportation services, Meals on Wheels, assisted living, care calls and so much more to seniors in the community. She said the funds will go towards its internal client aid fund, to support client needs. Above from left: Joanne King and John Spinelli.
