St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation reports that Week #35 Catch the Ace Lottery winners Stacie Wojick and Mike Lynch of Barry’s Bay won the weekly prize of $3,882.00 with a ticket bought at Lorraine’s Pharmsave. Stacie and Mike are getting married in 2021, and plan on using their prize towards the wedding. Tickets are on sale now for next Thursday’s draw when the Weekly Prize for Week #36 is estimated at $3,644. If the Ace of Spades is found, the Total Winnings will be around $115,157.00! All proceeds support Valley Manor Redevelopment.
Attention Opeongo Seniors Centre members
The Opeongo Seniors Centre at 19 Stafford Street, Barry’s Bay, will be open on Monday, Sept. 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with all COVID-19 protocols in place. You are welcome to come in, have a coffee and pay your dues for 2021. Tables will be set up, numbers will be limited and there will be a sign-in book at the door. If this works out, look for the Centre to be open again.
Marianhill to require COVID-19 testing for visitors
Marianhill Long Term Care in Pembroke has updated its policies around proof of testing by visitors. Visitors have had to attest to having a negative test within the two weeks prior to each visit. But from Monday, Sept. 28, as an increased precaution visitors will now be required to provide their negative results for validation before they enter Marianhill.
Madawaska Valley Studio Tour news – for visitors and for artists
Visitors: Although the Madawaska Valley Annual Fall Studio tour has been cancelled this year, some artists’ studios will be open with appropriate precautions next weekend. For example, these five artists in Wilno are still here, still friendly and happy to have you come by Oct. 3 and Oct. 4 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Dan Hill, Fraser Knives, Joyce Burkholder, Linda Sorensen, Sigrid Naturals. Limited numbers of people and masks will be mandatory.
Artists: The Artist application deadline for the 2021 Summer and Fall Studio Tours is the fast approaching on October 17th.
