Killaloe and Area Lions Club has been serving the local community since 1948, so it’s not surprising to hear that they have been spreading some Holiday Cheer. In partnership with OLG and Delta Bingo and Gaming Pembroke, the Lions recently fundraised to donate towards the cost of the Killaloe Public Library’s new extension. Each year, the Community Resource Centre in Killaloe coordinates a food and toy drive to ensure that local families have presents under the tree and a festive dinner on the table. The Killaloe and Area Lions have been longtime supporters of the holiday drive, using funds raised by their volunteers through the OLG and Delta Bingo and Gaming in Pembroke. This year the funds will help reach almost 300 children and 90 families. Smith said, “We’re so thankful to the Lions for their generous support. We couldn’t do it without them.”
