Editor’s note: The provincial Emergency Brake has required a few changes to this month’s plans at Madawaska Valley Public Library, but CEO Karen Filipkowski explains below how you can still borrow library materials and enjoy some Spring Break fun.
Effective April 3rd the Madawaska Valley Public Library, in keeping with the provincially announced lockdown measures, provides the following service changes:
- Contactless pickup only. Please reserve items from our online catalogue or call or email to request an item. Staff will contact you when your items are ready for pickup. Please allow 24 hours for requests to be filled.
- Computers can be booked for use by contacting the library.
- The photocopier can be accessed.

The library will be open for these services only on the following days and times:
- Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to12:00 p.m. and from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The Magic Show with Norden the Magician premieres on the library Facebook page April 12 at 1:00 p.m. Test your own magic skills by reserving a free magic kit complete with trick instructions and materials.
DIY Activity Kits: Contact the library to reserve free DIY Hopping into Spring activity kits.
- Infant & Toddler Kit – Hand Frog Craft
- 3-6 years – Silly Frog Drawings
- 7 + years – 3D Paper Frog
Mission Possible Computer Task Kit: For keen pre-teens pick up a kit containing a top secret mission that requires your computer skills to complete.
Family Movie Night: Pick up a movie night kit that contains a surprise family friendly movie and everything needed to make a tasty snack. Please let us know if you have any allergies when you register.
