Valley Manor identifies positive COVID-19 case

The following media release from Valley Manor Long Term Care was received Apr.4:

Valley Manor has identified a positive Covid-19 case of a symptomatic resident on Sunday, April 4th.  This individual is currently isolated and appropriate measures are in place to prevent transmission to staff and other residents.

The resident is comfortable and continues to be in isolation in our Covid-19 isolation unit as per the Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) direction. Valley Manor is undertaking facility-wide testing to ensure no transmission to staff or residents.

Extensive outbreak precautions continue to be diligently followed. Infection Prevention and Control measures and Personal Protective Equipment continue to be used appropriately and Valley Manor continues surveillance testing of all staff, residents and essential caregivers.

This will not delay any upcoming second dose of vaccinations for the staff.

Valley Manor’s CEO Trisha DesLaurier stated that, “While Valley Manor continues to keep the community informed, each and every one of us have an obligation to maintain the strictest of confidentiality for our staff and residents.”

Thank you to the staff and community for their understanding during this time.
