Third person charged after debris left on Hwy.17

Members of the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) and Renfrew Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have been investigating a number of incidents involving debris being placed on Highway 17 between Pembroke and Renfrew. The UOV OPP Crime Unit was engaged to assist along with an OPP Regional Operational Analyst (ROA) and OPP’s Forensic Identification Services (FIS).  On April 22, 2021 the UOV OPP Crime Unit arrested a third individual in connection with this case.       

Justin Christopher LEWIS, age 22 of Ottawa, has been charged with three counts of mischief endangering life contrary to the Criminal Code (CC).

 The accused was released and is scheduled to appear on May 25, 2021 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke.

Indecent act charge laid

On Sunday, April 25, 2021, at approximately 10:40 a.m., members of the Killaloe Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of an indecent act, which occurred on Kokomis Inamo, near Highway 60, in the Township of North Algona Wilberforce.

As a result of the investigation, police have charged 49 year old Lorne BAIRD of Renfrew, with the following Criminal Code offence:

  • Indecent Act

The accused was released on conditions, and is scheduled to appear in court on June 9, 2021, Ontario Court of Justice, Killaloe.
