Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) released this information June 28:
Due to increased eligibility for early second doses and increased shipments of vaccine, Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) is announcing that all second dose appointments after July 18, 2021, will be cancelled and must be re-scheduled. This means that all residents who have an appointment after July 18, 2021, will have to re-book their appointments online at an earlier date. To help ensure that residents have ample opportunity to re-book, many appointments will be added over the coming weeks to support individuals booking their second dose sooner. As of Monday, June 28, 2021, all Ontarians aged 18 and over who have received their first dose of an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine will be eligible to book their second dose appointment. The appointment is to be booked at least 28 days after the first dose, per the recommended interval.
Residents are being asked to re-book online at Renfrew County – COVID Vaccination Clinic Registration, as this is the fastest way. Individuals are encouraged to ask a family member or friend to assist if they are unable to book online themselves. Please book only one appointment per person to ensure that appointments are available to other eligible individuals. Alternatively, COVID-19 vaccines remain available through pharmacies. ONLY if a person is unable to register online, they can call RCDHU at 613-732-3629 or 1-800-267-1097, ext. 201. Residents are asked to leave one message with their name and phone number, and someone will return their call as soon as possible.
Additionally, if you have been unable to find an appointment date or time that works for you and are able to come in last minute, you can put your name on the COVID-19 Vaccine Weekly Extra Dose Sign-Up List, which allows residents to be called for last minute or same day appointments that open at various clinics across Renfrew County and District. We are asking everyone to book the soonest appointment that they can due to the large number of vaccines coming.
