On Wednesday July 7, 2021, at approximately 10:55 a.m., members of the Killaloe Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a collision between a pick-up truck and a pedestrian on Opeongo Line, at Bay Street in the Township of Madawaska Valley.
The driver of the pick-up truck was travelling east on Opeongo Line, and struck a pedestrian that was walking within the crosswalk. The 60 year old pedestrian from Madawaska Valley was taken to hospital by ambulance with non life-threatening injuries. The 77 year old driver of the pick up truck from South Algonquin Township was not injured.
