Traffic complaint in Madawaska Valley leads to impaired charges

On Sunday, August 1, 2021 at approximately 11:55 a.m., members of the Killaloe Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint on Old Barry’s Bay Road in the Township of Madawaska Valley.

Police located the vehicle, and as part of the investigation, the driver was transported to the detachment for further testing. As a result of this investigation, 46 year old Duane RECOSKIE of Madawaska Valley Township was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle; and,
  • Operating a Motor Vehicle While Having Over 80 mgs of Alcohol per 100 ml of Blood.

The accused was released on conditions, and is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, Ontario Court of Justice, Killaloe. The accused’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle towed and impounded. Collision on Round Lake Road

On Friday, July 30, 2021, at approximately 2:05 p.m., members of the Killaloe OPP responded to a two vehicle collision involving two sport utility vehicles on Round Lake Road near Foy Park Corridor in the Township of Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards.

Police investigation revealed the two vehicles collided near the intersection of Round Lake Road and Foy Park Corridor. A 40 year old passenger from Woodstock was taken to hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries. The 74 year old driver of one of the sport utility vehicles from Killaloe was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police have charged the 74 year old driver from Killaloe with Disobey Stop Sign, Fail To Stop contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant was issued a Provincial Offences Act notice. Both vehicles were towed.

Impaired charges follow collision in South Algonquin

On Saturday, July 31, 2021, at approximately 6:25 p.m., members of the Killaloe Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a private property on Highway 60 in the Township of South Algonquin where a motor vehicle collision involving two sport utility vehicles had occurred.

As part of the investigation, the Roadside Screening Device was used on one of the drivers, and that driver was transported to the police detachment for further testing. As a result of this investigation, 33 year old Edward VOLDOCK of Whitney was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Operating a Conveyance While Impaired By Alcohol; and,
  • Operating a Motor Vehicle While Having over 80 mgs of Alcohol per 100 ml of Blood.

No tow was required, and there were no reported injuries.

The accused was released on conditions, and is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, Ontario Court of Justice, Killaloe. The accused’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle towed and impounded.
