Today, Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) in collaboration with Our Lady Seat of Wisdom College (SWC), is confirming that an individual at Our Lady Seat of Wisdom College (SWC) in Barry’s Bay, has tested positive for novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19).

RCDHU is working closely with SWC to ensure necessary measures continue to be in place. If you are a high-risk contact, please continue to follow public health measures.

SWC continues to work proactively to protect the community from the spread of COVID-19 by performing weekly rapid antigen tests on all faculty, staff, and students. Prior to the start of classes, one individual tested positive for COVID-19 through rapid testing and was directed to self-isolate immediately. All close contacts were also directed to self-isolate.

SWC is working “proactively to protect the community from the spread of COVID-19”? Is this a new policy for them? Just wondering because for the last 18 months many from this institution have demonstrated flagrant disregard for public health measures.
