OPP seek public help to investigate break-in at church
On Saturday, February 12, 2022, at approximately 1:00 p.m., members of the Killaloe Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a break and enter to a church on Hartwig Street in the Township of Bonnechere Valley.
Entry was gained through a window. The OPP Scenes of Crimes officer attended to process the scene for evidence. Nothing was reported stolen.

Domestic disturbance in Madawaska Valley results in criminal charges
On Wednesday February 9, 2022, members of the Killaloe Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a domestic disturbance, which occurred at a residence in the Township of Madawaska Valley.
As a result of the investigation, police arrested and charged a 62 year old from the Township of Madawaska Valley with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Domestic Assault,
- Domestic Utter Threats, and;
- Careless Storage Of A Firearm, (three counts).
The accused was released on conditions, and is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at the Ontario Court of Justice, Killaloe. The name of the accused has been withheld to protect the identity of the victim.

One person charged with breach of release conditions, theft
On Saturday February 12, 2022, at approximately 4:35 p.m., members of the Killaloe Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a breach of release conditions call on the Algonquin’s of Pikwakanagan First Nation Territory, near Golden Lake.
As a result of police investigation, 37 year old James MCMULLIN, of Pikwakanagan Ontario First Nation Territory, has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Theft Under $5000, and;
- Breach Of Release Conditions, (three counts).
The accused was held for a bail court hearing and remains in custody.
