Collision on Opeongo Road results in Impaired charge
On Thursday, February 24, 2022, shortly after 12:00 p.m., members of the Killaloe Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to single vehicle collision involving a passenger car on Opeongo Road, in the Township of Madawaska Valley.
The lone driver of the passenger had suffered a loss of control and became lodged in ditch. As part of the investigation, the driver was transported to the detachment for further testing. As a result the investigation, 43 year old Timothy REYM of Madawaska Valley Township was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code (CC) offences:
- Impaired Operation of A Motor Vehicle; and,
- Operating a Motor Vehicle While Having over 80 mgs of Alcohol per 100 ml of Blood.
The accused was released on conditions, and is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, Ontario Court of Justice, Killaloe. The accused’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle towed and impounded.

Police investigate BLR cottage break & enter
On Saturday, February 26, 2022, at approximately 2: 40 p.m., members of the Killaloe Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a break and enter to a cottage on Kargus Road, in the Township of Brudenell Lyndoch and Raglan.
The entry occurred several weeks prior to police being called. An ice auger, bedding, linens and housewares were reported stolen.
