The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) recovered the body of a missing fisherman from Bark Lake, Hasting Highlands.
On March 25, 2023, shortly after 9:30 a.m., Bancroft OPP officers with assistance from the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) responded to a report of a man who had gone out ice fishing on Bark lake the night before and hadn’t returned home.
On March 26, 2023, just after 11:00 a.m., members of the USRU located the body of the missing fisherman.
The investigation is ongoing and a post mortem examination is being conducted.
