Madawaska Valley Public Library has launched an exciting series of fun summer programmes for children in the Valley,. Activities take place in both Barry’s Bay and Palmer Rapids. These FREE programmes are available to all kids – no need to have a library card or membership. It’s important to pre-register for some programmes (see below). Tuesdays 10:30am Story Time (for all ages) at Zurakowski Park, Barry’s Bay. In case of bad weather, please meet at the MV Public Library.
Wednesdays Reading Club (ages 6-12) Kids get rewards for reading this summer: crafts, games and more! Registration is necessary.

Fun Fridays involves a variety of crafts and activities for kids (ages 7 and up). Registration is necessary.
- 1:30pm at the Library in Barry’s Bay on July 14, 28, August 4, 25.
Let’s Talk Science
Led by students from the University of Ottawa, this STEM programme is ideal for kids ages 7 and up. Next session is at the Library in Barry’s Bay at 10:30am on Friday, Aug.11
TD Story Walk
During Library open hours on Fridays and Saturdays staff set up the TD Story Walk outside the Library. Drop by to follow the story cards and pick up activity sheets to make the story interactive.

Used Book Sale
During Library open hours, visit the Used Book Sale downstairs to find that special book, or to donate unwanted books in good condition (no textbooks please). There is a wide assortment of books and the offerings are always changing. Purchase of used books is by cash donation. The book sale is the largest fundraiser for the Library and proceeds help fund programming and equipment, so please be sure to check it out!
