Busy weekend in the Valley coming up:

Madawaska Valley Studio Tour July 15-16: The Summer Tour is a tradition for Valley art lovers. This weekend is the perfect time for a jaunt visiting artists’ studios to see not just the latest work by your favourites but also the work of some special guest artists. Studios are open from 10am to 5pm. To plan your route and for studio details, visit https://madawaskastudiotour.com/ or pick up a printed map at public venues and shops around the Valley.

Stuffie Sleepover July 14: There’s still time to check if MV Public Library has space for your child’s favourite stuffie to attend the annual Stuffie Sleepover today. Pre-register at the Library (Tel: 613-756-2000 or email mvpl.programs@gmail.com) Drop off stuffie today 1-4pm and come back tomorrow morning at 11am for a special stuffie story time with MV Mayor Mark Willmer. Pre-registration required.


Christmas in July this Saturday July 15: Local maker stalls for baked goods, woodworking, ornaments, crocheting, knitting and more on Saturday from 10am to 3pm at the Quadeville Community Centre, 50 Addington Road, Quadeville. Barbecue and snacks available.


Wild Goose Chase: Wherever you go in Madawaska Valley over the next few weeks, keep a lookout for Waddlesworth the elusive Goose. He’ll be hiding out at local businesses and landmarks. Madawaska Valley Township will post a photo and hints on Facebook weekly, with the opportunity for you to track him down and submit your entry. If you find Waddlesworth in person, scan the QR code and enter the draw for a prize donated by a local business.


BIAK Drumming on Monday July 17: Drums, songs, stories and take-home activity for your little ones at the Palmer Rapids Rec Centre at 10:30 am. Please pre-register with Madawaska Valley Public Library by phone (613)756-2000 or email mvpl.programs@gmail.com


Madawaska Valley Gardening Club: The deadline for photo submissions for this year’s Flower and Vegetable Show is next Thursday, July 20. You can submit your photos by email. Click HERE to visit MVGardeningClub.ca
