Fatal ATV collision under investigation
OPP continue to investigate a collision that resulted in the death of one person.
On September 2, 2023, just before 5:00 p.m., members of the Killaloe Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with paramedics responded to a single-vehicle collision involving an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) on River Bend Drive near Wishman Road, in the Township of Brudenell Lyndoch and Raglan.
Preliminary investigation has revealed the lone driver of the ATV was proceeding westbound on River Bend Drive and suffered a loss of control resulting in a roll over collision. The 54-year-old from Palmer Rapids was transported to a local hospital and died a short time later.
A post-mortem has been ordered. Police continue to investigate the collision.

Charge follows two-vehicle collision in BLR
One person has been charged after police investigation into a two-vehicle collision.
On September 4, 2023, just before 2:30 p.m., police, with assistance from Renfrew County Ambulance and the Brudenell Lyndoch and Raglan Fire Department responded to a two -vehicle collision involving a pickup truck and a sport utility vehicle (SUV) on Palmer Road near Dam Road in the Township of Brudenell Lyndoch and Raglan.
Police investigation has revealed the driver of the pickup truck was negotiating a turn and was struck by the oncoming SUV causing damages. The 82-year-old driver of the SUV from Nepean was transported to hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.
As a result of police investigation, the 75-year-old driver of the pick up truck from the Bahamas was charged with Improper Turn contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and issued a Provincial Offences Act notice.
One tow was required.

Domestic dispute in MV leads to charges
Police have charged two people after responding to a report of a domestic dispute.
On September 3, 2023, just after 7:00 p.m., members of the Killaloe Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a domestic dispute in the Township of Madawaska Valley.
As a result of police investigation, a 32-year-old from the Ottawa has been charged with the following Criminal Code and Provincial Offences Act offences:
· Resist peace officer;
· Obstruct peace officer;
· Domestic mischief under $5000;
· Public intoxication, LLA; and,
· Failing to leave premised when directed, TPA.
A 26-year-old (no fixed address), was also charged with obstruct peace officer as a result of this incident. Both accused are scheduled to appear in court on October 18, 2023, Ontario Court of Justice, Pembroke. The names of the accused will not be released.

Barrie resident charged in break and enter investigation
Police have laid criminal charges in a recent break and enter investigation.
On August 30, 2023, just before 11:00 a.m., members of the Killaloe Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a break and enter call for service involving a vehicle dealership on 60 Highway in the Township of North Algona Wilberforce.
A window was smashed, and receipts stolen. The OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS) was consulted and assisted with the incident. As a result of police investigation, 30-year-old Cameron SOLOMON of Barrie was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
· Break and enter; and,
· Beach of Probation (three counts)
The accused was held pending bail court and remains in custody.

Impaired charge follows MV traffic complaint call
Police have laid impaired charges on a driver after receiving a traffic complaint.
On September 2, 2023, just after 1:00 a.m., members of the Killaloe Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint call for service on Goose Lane in the Township of Madawaska Valley.
A short time later, officers located and stopped the vehicle. As a result of the investigation, 28-year-old Aleksander WOLSKI of Mississauga was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code (CC) offences:
- Impaired operation; and,
- Refuse to provide breath sample.
The accused was released, and is scheduled to appear in court on October 25, 2023, Ontario Court of Justice, Pembroke. The accused’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and the motor vehicle was towed and impounded.
