This Christmas the Madawaska Valley Public Library offers not just materials to borrow but also fun activities for all ages. You can pick up craft kits and STEM kits to do at home, bring your kids to a movie screening at the Library, or let them enjoy making crafts under the guidance of library staff. The whole family can participate in a board game night at the Library. Adults can join a newly-formed walking group which meets every Friday at 1pm and returns to the Library afterwards to warm up with a mug of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate. Here’s the full list of programs for you to choose from
- Friday, Dec.22 at 11am — Decorate sugar cookies and enjoy a story. Drop-ins welcome.
- Friday, Dec.29 at 1:30pm — Make a stuffed animal buddy and listen to a Christmas story. Registration is required; for children 8+ yrs; younger ones may attend with a parent’s help.
- Wednesday, Jan.3 at 1:30pm — Elliott the Littlest Reindeer movie. Drinks and popcorn provided. Bring a pillow and blanket. Please note registration is required as space is limited for this movie screening.
- Thursday, Jan.4 at 6pm — Family and friends are invited to a lively board game evening at the Library. Drop-ins welcome.
- Friday, Jan.5 at 1:30pm — Using an egg carton, create a portrait of a favourite animal. Registration required.
- Every Friday at 1pm — Adult Walking Group sets off from the Library at 19464 Opeongo Line, Barry’s Bay.
