Valley residents win with Catch The Ace lottery

The year has started well for three lucky Weekly Prize winners in the Catch The Ace progressive lottery held by St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation.

Vivian Recoskie of Whitney was the Week 8 winner of the Catch the Ace draw, with a ticket purchased at the Whitney Pharmacy. She chose Envelope Number 51 because it’s the year she was born. Envelope number 51 revealed the Ten of Spades, earning her the weekly prize of $1,156. Her television broke a few weeks ago, so she will use her winnings to buy a new one.

Dorothy Kosinski’s winning ticket was pulled in the Week 9 draw held on Thursday, December 28th. Dorothy, who grew up in Barry’s Bay and was visiting her mom in Wilno during the holidays, purchased her ticket in person at the Barry’s Bay MacEwen. She chose envelope number 10 because that’s her birthday. That envelope revealed the Nine of Clubs, earning Dorothy the great weekly prize of $1,170. While she doesn’t have any immediate plans for her winnings, she says she will put the prize to good use.

Merrill Mullen of Combermere, won the Week 10 Catch the Ace draw, with a ticket purchased at the St. Francis Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. He chose envelope number 8 at random because it jumped out and spoke to him. That envelope revealed the Seven of Spades, earning Merrill the weekly prize of $956. Merrill plans to put his winnings aside for now and use it to purchase firewood for next winter.

The Ace of Spades remains hidden, so if you want to join the winners circle you’ll need to buy a ticket!
