What would you say if you won nearly $480,000? You can hear Barry’s Bay resident, Edgar Lucas, react to the news as Erin Gienow, Executive Director of St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation (SFVHF) calls him after last Thursday’s draw. SFVHF posted a Facebook video of Gienow’s phone call with Lucas. When Gienow told him she was recording the call and asked Lucas if he had purchased a ticket for the Week 52 Draw he responded, “You’re kidding me!” Then he said she’d caught him in his truck, so Gienow asked him to pull over and not drive anywhere while she finished the call.
When she told Lucas the size of the prize, he replied, “Say that again!” and “Wow!”

Lucas said that he and his wife have supported St. Francis Memorial Hospital since buying their cottage (now home) on Kamineskeg Lake in 1974. He was too shocked to tell Gienow what he will do with his windfall.
