Reed’s petition was filed on February 20th and is being sponsored through the Commons process by Charlie Angus, MP for James Bay/Timmins (NDP). Angus’ criticism of Musk has been widely reported. Sorry folks but this is an obnoxious proposal and an attempt at whimsically wokist cancellation and annihilation which would set a very dangerous precedent. Elon Musk has inherited his Canadian citizenship from his mother, Maye Musk (née Haldeman), who was born in Saskatchewan to parents who were also native-born Canadian citizens. Such a cancellation of Canadian citizenship by birth to native-born Canadian citizens would actually violate the Charter of Rights so this petition is basically a total waste of time. A better idea:- ask the Canadian government to introduce a resolution into the UN to severely censure and suspend from membership the USA for persistently proposing to forcibly annex other countries, such as Panama, Canada, and Greenland in gross violation of the Charter of the United Nations and also for persistently proposing to dispossess various peoples of their native homelands, such as the Ukrainians and the Palestinians. The same petition could also ask the Canadian government to propose a resolution to relocate the United Nations from New York City to a more neutral and sympathetic locale such as London, Paris, or Vienna by reason that the USA has become grossly hostile to the goals of the United Nations.
