Bay Day
It’s back, bigger and better than ever – thanks to local merchants and the Barry’s Bay BIA. While you enjoy the special offers from retailers, Farmers Market stalls, and fun events in Downtown Barry’s Bay today, remember to keep an eye out for stands run by our local not-for-profit organizations who rely on your support for their activities.

Road Safety
This long weekend marks the end of Canada’s Road Safety Week. If you are heading towards the Ottawa area, be aware that the OPP and Ottawa Police Services are conducting RIDE stops for everyone’s safety. Wherever you are, remember to drive sober – drive safe.
Cottage tidy-up
If you plan to open up your cottage this weekend, please be aware that wildfire season has already begun. Fire Permits are required (for night time burning only) and can be obtained from the Madawaska Valley Township Office. For your convenience and to reduce the risk of fires, MV Township’s Operations Department has set up FREE brush disposal at the Bark Lake and Combermere waste sites.
