St.Francis Memorial Hospital gets $2million from province

St. Francis Memorial Hospital (SFMH) is proud to announce it has received $2,071,714 Health Infrastructure Renewal Funding (HIRF) from the Province of Ontario. A major portion of the funding will be directed toward the stabilization of the western embankment on the hospital property. This project is vital to ensure that once the Emergency Department Redevelopment Project is completed, and as such that ORNGE helicopter services can continue to safely access the hospital site.

“We’re grateful to the Province of Ontario for investing in communities across the Ottawa Valley. Small, rural communities are the backbone of our riding, and this support will go a long way in building the infrastructure that keeps our communities strong and makes them the places we proudly call home,” said MPP Denault.

“This investment is a significant step forward in ensuring our hospital remains resilient and accessible for emergency services,” said Suzanne Madore , President and CEO of RVH and SFMH. “We are grateful to the Ministry of Health for recognizing the importance of this work and supporting our efforts to provide high-quality care to our community.”

The embankment stabilization project is being completed by M. Sullivan & Son Ltd., in coordination with the broader redevelopment of the Emergency Department and renovations to the Ambulatory Care space. These combined efforts will ensure that modern, efficient, and accessible health care services are available to the region for decades to come. In addition to the embankment stabilization, the HIRF funding will also support smaller building repairs across the hospital site.

Work on the embankment has already begun and is expected to be completed before winter, minimizing disruption to hospital operations.
